Former Spanish under-21 international who joined Newcastle in September 2008 and scored on his Barclays Premier League debut against Hull two weeks later, but struggled to force his way into the first-team since then under several different managers.

Over the last three seasons, the frontman spent time on loan back in his homeland with Racing Santander and his former club Deportivo de La Coruna and helped them win promotion to La Liga in 2011/12.

Made his first appearance for the Magpies at any level for almost 18 months in the under-21s' match against Aston Villa in October 2012 and a fortnight later, hit a hat-trick for the second-string against Stoke.

However his contract was terminated by mutual consent at the end of January 2013.
