Phil Airey

From Coquet High School, the versatile Phil has been part of the Newcastle United Academy since the age of 10, mainly as a striker A great fan of Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Kaka, Phil is an all round sportsman, his other interests include, tennis, cricket, shooting, golf and cricket, Phil is indebted to his mother and father for getting him started at Newcastle United. His aim is to follow in Alan Shearer's footsteps. Made his Reserve team debut (at right back) at Everton on 18 November 2008 and has filled that role on a number of occasions since. Found a rich vein of goal scoring form early in 2009/10 but suffered knee ligament injury in November 2009 which sidelined him for two months. Player of the Tournament in the Foca Cup in Bosniain May 2010, scoring two goals in the Final as United retained the Cup beating NK Zagreb 3 - 2 in the Final.
