Name: Rolando Aarons
Born: 16th November 1995, Kingston, Jamaica
Height: 5ft 9ins
Under-21s debut: 8th April 2013 v Stoke (home), Barclays Under-21 Premier League
A tricky and direct winger who can play on either flank, Rolando arrived on Tyneside towards the end of the 2011/12 season from Bristol City, initially on trial. After impressing during training and on his debut against Middlesbrough, he was offered a scholarship.
Born in Jamaica, Aarons moved to the South-East of England as a child and supports Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo and Daniel Sturridge are the players he looks up to the most.
Blessed with the ability to take players on and beat them, he made his under-21 debut against Stoke in February 2013 and scored his first goal at that level against Crystal Palace later that month in only his second appearance.
Last season he continued to make great progress and by the end of the campaign he'd signed his first professional contract and was on the fringes of the first team squad. He continued to push on at the beginning of the current term, making his debut on the opening day of the season against Manchester City and then netting his first goal against Crystal Palace two weeks later.
His performances also earned him a call-up to the England under-20s squad.
