Newcastle United 1 (Cabaye 61)
SECOND HALF UPDATES
90+3mins: Newcastle have won at Old Trafford for the first time since February 1972. Yohan Cabaye's goal just past the hour mark was the difference but the Magpies deserved their victory. There are boos from the home fans on the full-time whistle as the pressure continues to mount on David Moyes. 90+2mins: Yanga-Mbiwa wins a corner for Newcastle - all they need to do now is keep it in the Man United half for a few more seconds.
90+1mins: Anita is booked for tugging back Anderson, but Coloccini heads Van Persie's free kick away.
90mins: There will be three minutes of stoppage time.
85mins: The home fans have started leaving already - this game is still on a knife edge but some of the Man United supporters seem to have given up.
83mins: Newcastle's third and final change sees Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa replace Debuchy, who seems to have picked up an injury. Initially Papiss Cisse seemed ready to come on but the Magpies coaching staff were clearly forced into a rethink, with Yanga-Mbiwa slotting straight in at right-back.
78mins: Goalscorer Cabaye comes off for Shola Ameobi.
76mins: Januzaj wins another free kick and Van Persie bends it in from the right, but it goes across goal without any of his team-mates getting a touch to it. Moyes responds by making his final substitution - Antonio Valencia is on for right-back Rafael.
74mins: With Van Persie suddenly beginning to take the game by the scruff of the neck, United are enjoying their best spell of the second half and as the striker feeds Januzaj, the teenager in turn plays in Zaha on the left but his curler is narrowly wide of Krul's far post.
72mins: The home fans are on their feet as Van Persie heads home from Januzaj's right-wing free-kick - but Sian Massey's flag is up for offside against the Dutchman.
70mins: Another change for the Red Devils - Anderson is on for Cleverley.
69mins: Ben Arfa makes room for a shot from 25 yards but it flashes over the bar.
68mins: David Moyes makes his first change as Nani makes way for Wilfried Zaha, who hasn't had many chances at Old Trafford so far this season.
61mins - NEWCASTLE UNITED GOAL (0-1): This time Sissoko's accuracy is spot on. He storms down the right and, after racing into the box the midfielder cuts the ball back towards the penalty spot for Cabaye. His shot may well have been going in anyway but takes a nick off Nemanja Vidic to take it into the back of the net. Newcastle led here three times last season, so they won't be getting carried away just yet, but the fans in that corner are loving this.
60mins: Sissoko lets fly from around 30 yards out and although it's well hit, the ball veers off in the wrong direction and ends up going some way off target.
55mins: How on earth have Man United not just scored? After the slightly-built Januzaj wins a free kick after going down easily under a challenge from the muscular Sissoko, Nani's free-kick from the left is met by a firm Patrice Evra header but hits the inside of the post, then Vurnon Anita. It may even have touched the little Dutchman's arm before - after another save from Krul in the middle of the chaos - Newcastle scramble the ball clear as a host of Red shirts try to force it over the line.
52mins: Two good saves from Krul deny Hernandez. First, the Mexican was picked out by a fine pass from Van Persie and had all the time in the world but was thwarted by the keeper's legs. Then the ball came back to the forward but Krul was able to make a more routine stop.
50mins: Rafael sends over a wicked cross from the right but Mike Williamson, at full stretch, cuts it out before Debuchy heads the ball back to Krul. Great defending and great team-work from the Magpies.
46mins: There are no changes on either side as Newcastle get the second half underway. They're now kicking towards the end which houses three thousand or so members of the Toon Army in the corner.
FIRST HALF UPDATES
45+3mins: The final action of what has been an impressive first half showing from Newcastle sees Santon stand up a cross which Debuchy gets his head to but sends too close to De Gea, who dives to hold. Marriner then blows his whistle and Alan Pardew will be pleased with his side's display, as will the travelling fans who have outsung the Man United fans throughout. Click here for the half time report.
45+1mins: Remy plays an inventive slide-rule pass for Debuchy to sprint onto from the right and after the French defender advances into the box, his strike is beaten away at his near post by De Gea.
45mins: There will be three minutes of stoppage time.
42mins: Mexican striker Javier Hernandez runs at Fabricio Coloccini and goes down in the box as the Argentine challenges him, but although the home crowd appeal half-heartedly for a penalty there did not seem to be much in the way of contact and Marriner wasn't interested.
41mins: Mathieu Debuchy slides in to win the ball from Cleverley and Newcastle break, with Remy holding the ball up and playing in Cabaye who eventually finds Tiote, whose 25 yard shot swerves well wide.
29mins: After another superb challenge from Tiote sees the ball run to Davide Santon, the left-back plays the ball towards Sissoko who controls it perfectly, jinks inside and rolls into the path of Cabaye. His shot loops up off Cleverley and drops just over the bar.
25mins: The outstanding Cheick Tiote wins the ball in midfield for the umpteenth time before feeding Cabaye, who steps to his right before shooting across the Stretford End goal.
18mins: Moussa Sissoko twists and turns near the right-hand touchline to shake off two defenders before whipping over a lovely cross which Loic Remy meets with his head, but nods wide of David De Gea's goal. For a striker of Remy's quality, that has to go down as a decent chance.
11mins: After a slow start, the home side are beginning to impose themselves and after good work from Nani on the left, the ball finds its way to Januzaj on the right-hand side of the box. He cuts the ball back to Tom Cleverley who gets two bites of the cherry from the edge of the box but on both occasions, his efforts are blocked as the Magpies defend well.
9mins: Having already made one challenge which referee Andre Marriner didn't like, Yohan Cabaye makes another on Adnan Januzaj and this time the Frenchman earns a yellow card - his fifth of the campaign meaning an automatic one-match ban. Man United take the resulting free kick quickly and that allows Phil Jones to try his luck with a low drive from 22 yards but Tim Krul, the newly-crowned Barclays Premier League Player of the Month, gets down to save easily.
1min: Newcastle are wearing their yellow and blue change kit here at Old Trafford as, following a minute's applause for the late Nelson Mandela, Manchester United get the game started. It's only been worn once before in the Barclays Premier League, when United won 1-0 at Tottenham last month; a similar result would be nice...
