Barclays Premier League

Liverpool 2 (Agger 63, Sturridge 65)
Newcastle United 1 (Skrtel og 20)
SECOND HALF UPDATES
90+4mins: Despite a 2-1 victory over nine-man Newcastle, Liverpool finish runners-up behind Manchester City, who beat West Ham 2-0. The Magpies, meanwhile, end the season in tenth place. They looked on course to claim an unlikely win when Skrtel's own goal put them ahead but Liverpool scored twice in two second half minutes before Ameobi and Dummett were sent off. Click here for a report.
90mins: There will be a minimum of four minutes of stoppage time.
89mins: Lucas becomes the first Liverpool player to be booked following a late tackle on De Jong.
87mins: Dummett is sent off as United go down to nine men. The youngster was chasing back as Liverpool broke from a Newcastle free kick and dived in to win the ball from Suarez. The Uruguayan made the most of what was admittedly a strong challenge and after taking his time, Dowd flashes the red card.
80mins: Lucas replaces Daniel Sturridge in Liverpool's final change of the afternoon.
78mins: Sammy Ameobi is on in place of Gouffran for his first appearance since February due to injury.
66mins: It's just gone from bad to worse for Newcastle as Ameobi is sent off. He was booked for something he said to the referee as he prepared to take kick-off and then almost immediately another yellow card came out. Three minutes ago, United were leading - now they are behind and down to ten men.
65mins - LIVERPOOL GOAL (2-1): Now Gouffran is cautioned for kicking the ball away after yet another free kick is awarded against the Magpies - and Liverpool score again. It's a carbon copy of the goal two minutes earlier; Gerrard sent it to the far post and this time it was Sturridge who was there to force home.
63mins - LIVERPOOL GOAL (1-1): Anita is booked for clipping Sterling after the young England winger had skipped past him 20 yards from goal - and from the resulting free kick, taken by Gerrard, Agger arrives at the far post to stab home.
60mins: Sturridge tries his luck from almost 30 yards but his effort goes well wide.
59mins: Philippe Coutinho is on for Allen as Liverpool look for more creativity.
58mins: Dowd awards a soft free kick to Liverpool just outside the box after Suarez goes down under Mike Williamson's challenge but the Uruguayan slips as he takes his shot and Krul fields it with relative ease.
56mins: Gerrard's dangerous cross from a free-kick almost sneaks in at the far post but Krul watches it flash wide.
49mins: Manchester City have just gone 2-0 up at the Etihad, so even if Liverpool can turn it around here it looks like they will miss out on the title. Today's attendance at Anfield is 44,724.
48mins: Sterling runs at the Magpies defence and takes a low shot from 20 yards which takes a slight deflection to send it just wide of Krul's goal.
46mins: The home side get the second half started and they're kicking towards the Kop. Aly Cissokho is on for Flanagan.
FIRST HALF UPDATES
45+2mins: Dowd blows for half time and Newcastle lead through Skrtel's own goal. Liverpool have been second best in most areas so far but they'll surely come out all guns blazing in the second period. Click here for our half-time report.
45mins: There will be a minimum of two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the half.
44mins: Ameobi, who has led the line superbly today, takes the ball from Sissoko and gets in a shot from 22 yards but it's well wide of the target.
40mins: As news filters through that Manchester City have taken the lead against West Ham, Henderson digs out a cross from the right which Daniel Sturridge somehow heads wide from six yards out.
35mins: Debuchy is booked for what Dowd sees as time-wasting as he has a quick drink before taking a throw-in near the away dugout.
34mins: Suarez takes Joe Allen's pass and turns Fabricio Coloccini before dancing towards goal but having worked an opening inside the box, his finish is weak and Krul gets down well to hold.
29mins: More great work from Ameobi sees the big striker loft the ball into the path of Gouffran but, from a narrow angle, he can't force his effort home.
27mins: Ameobi sends Gouffran racing through on goal with a superb pass and the Frenchman looks set to put Newcastle 2-0 up but Mignolet makes a fine block with his legs and although the follow-up falls to Anita, his first-time effort flies into the Kop.
24mins: Liverpool have responded well by putting Newcastle under plenty of pressure and from Steven Gerrard's right-wing corner, Daniel Agger sees his header saved by Krul.
20mins - NEWCASTLE UNITED GOAL (0-1): Alan Pardew's side take the lead and they deserve it for the start they've made. Gouffran sets off on a direct run down the left and his dangerous cross is turned into his own net by Martin Skrtel. It's United's first away goal since March 1st and could have a huge say in the destination of this season's Barclays Premier League trophy.
18mins: Luis Suarez wins a free kick after a foul by Yoan Gouffran and, from out near the touchline, wastes no time in sending an audacious shot past Krul, who was still organising his defence. Unfortunately for him, he took it too quickly and his celebrations are cut short by Dowd.
11mins: Liverpool appeal for a free kick as Jordan Henderson goes down just outside the box but referee Phil Dowd plays a good advantage which Raheem Sterling can't quite make the most of as Tim Krul smothers.
10mins: Jon Flanagan loses out to Mathieu Debuchy, who finds Sissoko and the Frenchman's right-wing cross is met by the head of Ameobi but this time it's too close to Simon Mignolet. Both of the chances in this match so far have fallen to the visitors and to Ameobi, who has scored in his last two starts.
1min: What an atmosphere we have here at Anfield as Newcastle, wearing their new silver change kit for the first time, kick off against Liverpool, who can still win the Barclays Premier League title today if they win and Manchester City lose to West Ham. United are kicking towards the Kop end in this first half.
