SECOND HALF UPDATES

WHISTLE-MDC-icons90+3mins: It's finished 3-0 to Arsenal here, a sixth defeat in a row for Newcastle. Click here for a report.

90+2mins: Sissoko pulls the ball back from the right for Dummett but the defender's volley flies over the bar.

90mins: There be a minimum of three minutes of stoppage time.

SUB-MDC-icons89mins: Monreal cracks in a shot from an angle which Krul blocks with his leg before Podolski's follow up drifts over. Adam Armstrong comes on for Gouffran.

SUB-MDC-icons84mins: A substitution for both sides as Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa replaces Debuchy for Newcastle and Yaya Sanogo is on for Arsenal's Giroud.

79mins: Anita rolls the ball to Debuchy who goes for goal from 22 yards but his effort swerves well wide.

Yellow-Card-MDC-icons75mins: Bacary Sagna is booked for throwing the ball down in frustration after conceding a free kick for a foul on Dummett, but Remy's free kick is poor and flies off target.

SUB-MDC-icons74mins: Mathieu Flamini comes on for Ozil, while Tomas Rosicky replaces Ramsey.

71mins: Sissoko does well to find Gouffran on the right hand angle of the box but his shot lacks the power to trouble Szczesny.

SUB-MDC-icons69mins: Ozil cuts the ball back from the left for Podolski, whose low shot deflects just wide off Coloccini. Now Shola Ameobi replaces Dan Gosling.

GOAL-MDC-icons66mins - ARSENAL GOAL (3-0): Giroud heads home a third for the Gunners. Ramsey tees up Ozil who crosses from the left and Giroud gets a deft touch to the cross with his head to leave Krul helpless.

58mins: Gouffran shows good pace to hare onto Anita's pass and close in on goal but his shot from an angle just inside the box is parried by Szczesny, who then gathers at the second attempt. Newcastle have now had a good chance in each half but have taken neither of them.

53mins: A right-wing Ozil corner is headed clear by Dummett but falls to Cazorla, who blazes over from 20 yards.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons46mins: The Magpies take kick-off at the beginning of the second half.

FIRST HALF UPDATES

WHISTLE-MDC-iconsYellow-Card-MDC-icons45+2mins: Ozil flicks the ball into the path of Cazorla who evades a Coloccini challenge - and stays on his feet when he could perhaps have gone down inside the box - and forces another good save from Krul. That comes at the expense of a corner, from which Tiote is booked for a foul on Ramsey, before the half time whistle goes with United 2-0 down. Click here for a half time report.

45mins: There will be two minutes of added time.

GOAL-MDC-icons42mins - ARSENAL GOAL (2-0): And they've got it - at the third time of asking. After sprinting onto a long pass, Giroud is denied by Krul not once but twice, but Ozil is there to tap home despite a hint of offside. Once again United concede a goal shortly before half time - that's been a real problem in recent weeks.

41mins: Ozil feeds Podolski on the left and his cross-cum-shot is beaten away by Krul as Arsenal push for a second before the break.

37mins: The impressive Mathieu Debuchy holds off Nacho Monreal and advances before hitting a blistering strike from the right which can't have been far away from finding the target.

Yellow-Card-MDC-icons34mins: Swarbrick brings play back after playing an advantage to show Ramsey a yellow card for a late tackle on Tiote.

32mins: Cheick Tiote - the man who scored the equaliser in the famous 4-4 game between the two sides - tries his luck from distance after Loic Remy's cross is half-cleared but although there's plenty of power and swerve on the ball, it's too close to Wojciech Szczesny, who is able to hold.

30mins: A second great save from Krul in the space of little over a minute as he somehow keeps out Podolski's header from point blank range. He seemed certain to score as he met a right-wing corner but Newcastle's goalkeeper came to their rescue.

28mins: Now Lukas Podolski races through and almost makes it 2-0 but the trailing leg of Krul diverts his effort just wide.

GOAL-MDC-iconsYellow-Card-MDC-icons26mins - ARSENAL GOAL (1-0): From the resulting free kick, taken by Cazorla from a position slightly left of centre, 35 yards from goal, Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny steals in front of his marker to steer home and put the home side ahead. He is booked for his celebrations which saw him boot the ball into the crowd.

Yellow-Card-MDC-icons25mins: Sissoko stops Giroud unfairly and becomes the first player to be booked by referee Neil Swarbrick.

20mins: With a strong run which evokes memories of his hero, the former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, Moussa Sissoko bursts through from midfield to give himself a goalscoring opportunity but sadly he curls his shot too high.

18mins: Tim Krul punches away a dangerous inswinging cross from Santi Cazorla and it falls for Mesut Osil but the German's shot from the edge of the box flashes just wide.

16mins: A swift break from Arsenal sees Aaron Ramsey glide through the middle and slide the ball towards Olivier Giroud, but Paul Dummett tracks the Frenchman all the way and makes a vital interception. That's the closest either team has come so far, with the Gunners' only other genuine attack being snuffed out by Fabricio Coloccini a few minutes previously.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons1min: Wearing their red and white home kits, Arsenal get tonight's game underway. The Magpies, who have Alan Pardew back on the touchline following his ban, are in black and white and look to be lining up in a 4-3-3 formation rather than the expected 4-4-1-1.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Wojciech Szczesny; Bacary Sagna, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal; Mikel Arteta (c), Aaron Ramsey (Tomas Rosicky 74); Mesut Ozil (Mathieu Flamini 74), Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski; Olivier Giroud (Yaya Sanogo 84)

Subs not used: Lukasz Fabianski, Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Kim Kallstrom
