Wigan Athletic 2 (Beausejour 18, Kone 90)
Newcastle United 1 (Santon 72)
SECOND HALF UPDATES
90+4mins: Halsey blows his whistle to signal the end of the game and after two successive wins, Newcastle are sent crashing back down to earth as Wigan keep their survival hopes alive. Davide Santon's first Newcastle goal had cancelled out Jean Beausejour's first-half opener but Arouna Kone pounced in the last minute to win it for the Latics.
90+3mins: The dangerous Kone sees a curling shot deflected wide and Wigan try to keep the ball in the corner from the flag-kick.
90+1mins: Drama at both ends as first Cisse sees a shot blocked at close range and then as Wigan break, Elliot races out of his goal and Kone takes the ball around him but Sissoko covers well to win the ball back as the Ivorian tried to take the ball into the empty net.
90mins - WIGAN GOAL (2-1): The home side win a corner as Yanga-Mbiwa slices the ball behind and from Gomez's delivery, Boyce appears to stick out a hand which takes the ball away from a Newcastle defender and as it bobbles around in the box, Kone is there to force home from a yard out. There will be four minutes of stoppage time.
86mins: Marveaux floats a lovely pass out to Ameobi on the left and the big man does well to control it and then drive a low ball across goal. Cisse meets it and flicks it just wide - it seemed to deflect off a Wigan defender but a goal kick is given.
79mins: Perch brings down Beausejour 20 yards from goal and, having already been booked, is probably lucky to escape without a second yellow. Perhaps that's Halsey evening things up after failing to take action against McManaman in the first half. Wigan bring on Franco Di Santo in place of Beausejour before Maloney's free-kick is comfortably held by Elliot.
72mins - NEWCASTLE GOAL (1-1): Alan Pardew's side score a superb breakaway goal as Marveaux wins a header just inside the Wigan half, Cisse flicks on with a delicious touch and Davide Santon races onto it, skips inside and drills a low effort past Robles. It's his first goal for Newcastle and it's sent the Magpies fans wild.
69mins: McArthur embarks on a strong run before curling a shot inches wide, although it must have got a touch from a Newcastle defender as the hosts are awarded a corner which Figueroa heads wide.
68mins: Maynor Figuero throws himself at a Beausejour's corner and nods it just over.

67mins: Gutierrez is booked for a slightly mistimed sliding tackle on Maloney, then Shola Ameobi - who scored the winner here two seasons ago - comes on in place of Yoan Gouffran.
62mins: McArthur advances and shoots, and Taylor blocks his shot to send it looping into the air and fortunately over the bar. It's and end-to-end game at the moment.
58mins: After a shot from Kone goes wide, McManaman is substituted with James McArthur coming on in his place.
56mins: Now Marveaux plays in Yoan Gouffran, whose intelligent first-time pass to Cisse is blazed over by the striker, who has been rather wasteful this afternoon.
53mins: Marveaux's clipped ball over the top finds Cisse, but the Senegalse star - on target in his last two outings - volleys off target.
52mins: Yanga-Mbiwa makes a superb block from McManaman, who played a neat one-two with Beausejour then steadied himself but saw the Frenchman throw himself in the way of his shot.
50mins: Perch is booked for a foul on Kone. He deserved a yellow but it's still nowhere near as bad as the McManaman tackle which saw no action taken.
47mins: As Newcastle make a strong start to the half, Sissoko bends an effort from just inside the box narrowly wide of the far post.
46mins: We have an update on the condition of Haidara - he's suffering from a knee and thigh injury and is on his way back to Newcastle to be assessed - more here. Meanwhile, John Carver has been sent to the stands following his half-time bust-up with referee Halsey. Newcastle get the second half started and are now attacking towards the end where their fans are sitting.
FIRST HALF UPDATES
45+6mins: Last season, Newcastle were 4-0 down at the break at Wigan. This year they're only one goal down but the match has been largely overshadowed by an injury to Massadio Haidara following a tackle by Callum McManaman which did not even earn the home player a booking. As the teams walk off, John Carver confronts referee Halsey and an altercation between him and some Wigan staff ensues before some order is eventually restored. Click here for the half-time report.
45+4mins: Cheick Tiote's cross is flicked on by Perch, who was still upfield after a United free-kick, and the ball drops for Papiss Cisse who hooks the ball over the bar from six yards.
45+2mins: Paul Scharner becomes the first player booked for a cynical block on Moussa Sissoko on the halfway line. Wigan play some attractive football but they're certainly getting stuck in here - perhaps a little too much.
45mins: There will be six minutes of stoppage time, which allows for the injury to Haidara midway through the half.
42mins: A superb saving tackle from Jonas Gutierrez prevents Wigan from adding a second. Beasejour split the United defence with a slide-rule pass as James McCarthy raced through on goal, but the Argentine appeared from nowhere to slide in with a crucial block.
35mins: Kone finds Shaun Maloney, who cleverly turns in the box before getting in a shot which Rob Elliot does well not only to parry but also to push away from the danger area as Emmerson Boyce raced in to try and benefit from any rebound.
27mins: James Perch comes on for poor Haidara, who is stretchered off in what is only his second Barclays Premier League appearance. The Wigan fans generously join in with the applause as the ex-Nancy man is carried off.
22mins: Haidara is left in agony as McManaman jumps in with a knee-high tackle which catches the young Frenchman at full force. He's only been on for eight minutes but it looks like he will have to come off too - and it must be said that McManaman's afternoon should probably be over too as that challenge surely deserved a red card. However, Mark Halsey has not even booked the Latics man, who then deliberately handballed moments later to quite literally add insult to injury.
18mins - WIGAN GOAL (1-0): Newcastle fall behind to a somewhat sloppy goal as Callum McManaman - making his full top flight debut - crosses from the right and the ball is allowed to travel all the way across to Jean Beausejour on the left-hand side of the box. He controlled the ball before drilling home from around eight yards out to temporarily silence the United support.
14mins: That injury is enough to force Debuchy off - he will be replaced by Massadio Haidara, who slots in at left-back with Davide Santon moving over to the right.
12mins: Mathieu Debuchy puts the ball in the net after making an overlapping run into the Wigan penalty area, but the flag was up against the Frenchman, who seemed to tweak his hamstring as he slotted the ball home after the whistle had gone.
10mins: A great chance for Newcastle goes begging - Sylvain Marveaux's right-wing corner is met by Steven Taylor but the defender sends it too close to Joel Robles when he probably should have scored. The keeper is able to parry and then pounce on the ball at the second attempt as the match begins to liven up after a slow start.
7mins: A Jordi almost strikes against the Geordies as Wigan midfielder Gomez steps up to take a free-kick after a foul by Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa on Arouna Kone but he curls his effort narrowly over the bar.
1min: The pre-match playlist of Northern soul and Wigan Pier classics gives way to the sound of the Toon Army in full voice as the game gets underway at the DW Stadium. United are in their fluo-lime change kit with the Latics - unchanged from last weekend's FA Cup win at Everton - wearing blue and white stripes. It is the home side who take kick-off, with the massed ranks of away fans behind Rob Elliot's goal in this first period.
