QPR v Newcastle: Shola Back For R's Test

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Journalist

Shola Ameobi is back in the Newcastle United starting line-up as they travel to Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League tonight (8pm kick-off).

The big striker missed United's last fixture against Fulham with a slight knock, but is back to full fitness and will lead the line alongside Leon Best - who notched twice against the Cottagers.

Ameobi comes in for Peter Lovenkrands, who drops down to the substitutes bench in the only change that manager Alan Pardew makes to the Magpies' starting line-up.

Following some impressive displays this term, Ryan Taylor is given the nod to continue at left-back, despite new signing Davide Santon being available for selection. The youngster recruited from Inter Milan will instead be among the replacements, along with goalkeeper Rob Elliot, who arrived from Charlton at the end of August.

Newcastle United (4-4-2): Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Ryan Taylor; Gabriel Obertan, Yohan Cabaye, Cheik Tiote, Jonas Gutierrez; Leon Best, Shola Ameobi

Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Davide Santon, Danny Guthrie, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Peter Lovenkrands, Demba Ba
