Tino's In Toon

By Dan King

More than 13 years after that hat-trick against Barcelona, Tino Asprilla will return to St. James' Park on Saturday to make a half-time appearance on the pitch.

The Colombian ace has returned to Newcastle on just a handful of occasions - including a memorable appearance at a friendly match against the Catalan giants nearly ten years ago - since he left United in 1998.

But during the interval against Spurs, the Toon Army will get a chance to show their appreciation for a genuine entertainer... before Tino takes part in a crossbar challenge.

Asprilla remains a true favourite with United fans, and still loves the club too as he proved when he sat in the away end at the Stadium of Light during last weekend's derby.

In an interview with Newcastle United magazine in May 2009, following his last visit to NE1, Asprilla said: "Every time I come back to Newcastle, it's great because you feel the love that the people have for me.

"That's something I'm never going to forget - the love and the culture."
