Crystal Palace v Newcastle: Two Changes

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

At Selhurst Park

Jack Colback and Papiss Cisse return to the Newcastle United starting line-up for Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace (3pm kick-off).

Midfielder Colback has missed the last three games with a knee injury sustained in last month's Tyne-Wear derby, while striker Cisse hasn't started a top flight fixture since the middle of September - ten weeks ago.

The pair replace Cheick Tiote, who is nursing a groin injury, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, who drops down to the substitutes' bench, and those are the only two changes from last weekend's disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Leicester City.

United are expected to line up in a 4-4-2 formation, with Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper Rob Elliot behind a back four of Daryl Janmaat, Chancel Mbemba, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Paul Dummett.

Colback will partner Vurnon Anita in the middle of the park, while Moussa Sissoko and six-goal leading scorer Georginio Wijnaldum take up roles on either flank.

And in the final third, Ayoze Perez will play just off Cisse, who netted in this fixture last season.

Joining Mitrovic on the substitutes' bench, there are places for Florian Thauvin, Yoan Gouffran, Siem de Jong, Jamaal Lascelles, Jamie Sterry and fit-again goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
