Steven Taylor made his first start for Newcastle since being sent off against Manchester City on the opening day of the season as United hosted Cardiff in the FA Cup third round.

And it was all going so well for him and his team until Craig Noone cancelled out Papiss Cisse's opener, then Fraizer Campbell won the match with ten minutes left.

As a boyhood Magpies supporter, Taylor was as determined as anybody to help Newcastle go far in the competition and spoke to nufcTV after the defeat.
