As Paul Dummett says himself, had he not been in the squad for Monday's trip to Manchester City he would probably have been in the away end with the Newcastle fans.

But when Steven Taylor was sent off just before half time, the 21-year-old local lad was thrown on for his Barclays Premier League debut and gave a good account of himself despite a 4-0 defeat at the Etihad.

His only previous appearance for his boyhood Club came at Brighton in the FA Cup last season but now he's hoping to make many more.
