Pic Special: Crystal Palace 0 Newcastle 3

Newcastle United recorded yet another away-day victory as they triumphed 3-0 at Crystal Palace in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

Yohan Cabaye's deflected shot and a Danny Gabbidon own goal gave the Magpies a half-time cushion they fully deserved, before substitute Hatem Ben Arfa added a late third from the penalty spot.

United were superb from start to finish at Selhurst Park. Confident in possession, solid at the back and always a danger in the final third, they broke the deadlock when Cabaye swept in Moussa Sissoko's cut-back.

Although Palace briefly threatened to equalise, it was the visitors who extended their advantage, coming courtesy of home defender Gabbidon, who prodded a brilliant Mathieu Debuchy cross into his own net.

In the second half, Yoan Gouffran struck the woodwork and Cabaye continued to pose problems, before Ben Arfa sealed all three points after Shola Ameobi was fouled inside the box.

Manager Alan Pardew will be delighted with the performance of his troops, as they recorded a sixth away victory of the season in all competitions.
