Pic Special: Man Utd 0 Newcastle 1

Yohan Cabaye's second-half strike ended Newcastle United's wait of more than 40 years for a victory at Old Trafford, as they saw off Manchester United 1-0 on Saturday.

The Magpies last triumphed away in the red half of Manchester in February 1972, when goals from John Tudor and Stewart Barrowclough earned a 2-0 victory.

But at the 33rd attempt, Newcastle erased that unwanted record as Cabaye sidefooted home Moussa Sissoko's pass just past the hour mark.

And it was no more than Alan Pardew's side deserved for another outstanding away performance in which they were defensively resolute and dangerous on the break.

Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy also went close for the visitors, while at the other end Tim Krul saved from Javier Hernandez, Phil Jones and Adnan Januzaj, with Patrice Evra heading against the post.

It was a fifth win in six games for the Magpies, who continue to fly high in the Premier League, and their 200th Premier League clean sheet.
