Pic Special: Swansea 3 Newcastle 0
Newcastle United suffered their first defeat in five matches as they went down 3-0 away at Swansea City on Wednesday night.
Goals from Nathan Dyer and Jonjo Shelvey, either side of a Mathieu Debuchy own goal, saw the Magpies leave South Wales empty-handed.
As United failed to clear their lines from a free-kick, Dyer struck home in first-half stoppage time to edge City in front.
And when Alan Pardew's side saw two penalty claims fall on deaf ears, the hosts took full advantage.
Debuchy was unfortunate to deflect in a Shelvey shot which had been saved by Tim Krul, but there was nothing lucky about their third - Shelvey planting a strike into the top corner from 25 yards.
