Pic Special: Man City 4 Newcastle 0
Ten-man Newcastle United suffered an opening day 4-0 defeat away at Manchester City on Monday night.
City grabbed two goals either side of half-time - David Silva and Sergio Aguero netting before the interval, with Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri adding to the tally after the restart.
And the Magpies' cause was not helped by a straight red card for defender Steven Taylor on the stroke of half-time, having clashed with Aguero.
Silva headed City in front early on and Aguero doubled their advantage, putting the finishing touch on a fine breakaway goal.
Once Taylor received his marching orders there was only going to be one outcome and Toure fired home a free-kick before substitute Nasri added number four.
