Pic Special: Portugal Tour - Day One
In sweltering conditions, United's stars were put through their paces on the first day of their Portuguese pre-season training camp.
Under the watchful eye of manager Alan Pardew and his coaching staff, the squad spent nearly three hours on the training pitch at their Braga base on Thursday morning, going through a range of fitness, conditioning and football drills.
There was also the welcome sight of goalkeeper Tim Krul continuing his rehabilitation following shoulder surgery in April.
The Magpies finished with a bout of shooting practice, which included a number of trademark Yohan Cabaye free-kicks nestling in the back of the net.
