Pic Special: Hong Kong Phew-Wee!
On their first full day in Hong Kong, Newcastle's ten-man squad for the International Soccer Sevens trained in 32 degree heat on the artificial surface at Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley on Thursday afternoon.
Despite its name, the Football Club is in fact a private members sporting complex with facilities for rugby, hockey, lawn bowls, football, squash, tennis, netball, basketball and badminton and is set magnificently between striking high rise buildings and a race course.
As United continue to make friends in the Far East, Willie Donachie invited young players from the nearby West Island School to join in with training, where the lads worked on possession and shooting as well as playing a seven-a-side game ahead of Saturday's group stage matches.
They will again train on Friday morning before starting their bid to retain the trophy. With the squad in Hong Kong is Club Reporter Dan King, who brings nufc.co.uk this exclusive set of photographs.
