Pic Special: Consett 0 Newcastle U21s 6

The former pit town of Consett came to a near standstill on Wednesday night as Newcastle United came to town - and the Magpies turned on the style with a 6-0 victory.

Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley brought a team to Derwentside to celebrate Consett's final match at their old Belle Vue Park ground ahead of a move to a new stadium next season.

In the first half, the Steelmen lived up to their nickname as they more than matched the Magpies and trailed only to an early Bradden Inman goal.

But in the second period, James Tavernier netted a penalty before Inman grabbed his second and Rolando Aarons, Jonathyn Quinn and Remie Streete were also on target.

The big crowd enjoyed the evening, though, and so did Club Photographer Ian Horrocks, who brought nufc.co.uk this exclusive gallery.
