Pic Special: Heading For The Hawthorns

For the second day in succession, Newcastle's players trained at St. James' Park on Friday before travelling to the Midlands ahead of the weekend's game against West Bromwich Albion.

And after a gloomy few days following the derby defeat to Sunderland, the sun shone brightly as the lads were put through their paces. Hopefully it's an omen.

Certainly, there were more smiles on faces nearly a week on from that disappointing loss to the Black Cats, while injured goalkeeper Tim Krul was there to watch.

Academy players Greg Olley and Macauley Booth were also involved in the session - a great experience for them - and Club Photographer Ian Horrocks brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
