Pic Special: Colo On Comeback Trail

Fabricio Coloccini returned to Tyneside this week following a short break in Argentina and has started to make the initial steps towards recovering from the back injury he suffered against Southampton.

The skipper has resumed very light training in the gym, although he's still at least three weeks away from coming back into Alan Pardew's side.

He'll certainly play no part against Manchester City on Saturday but the rest of the team trained ahead of the match, with Tim Krul joining in during a practice match as he steps up his own recovery.

Also making encouraging strides was Ryan Taylor, who has yet to resume full training but is getting ever closer, and bringing nufc.co.uk this exclusive gallery was Club Photographer Ian Horrocks.
