Pic Special: Newcastle 1 Anzhi 0

Papiss Cisse left it late, but headed Newcastle United into the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.

The Senegalese front man converted Sylvain Marveaux's right-wing cross deep into stoppage time to earn the Magpies a 1-0 aggregate victory over Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.

The visitors' cause wasn't helped by midfielder Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez receiving two yellow cards in the space of seven second-half minutes, leaving his side a man short.

But, numerical advantage aside, the Magpies were well worth the win, with Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote and Marveaux all going close.

Club Photographers Ian Horrocks and Serena Taylor have seen many memorable European games at St. James' Park over the years, and this was another to add to their collection, as the duo snapped this gallery of action from a thrilling night.
