Pic Special: Newcastle U21s 1 Man City U21s 1

Just hours after touching back down on Tyneside after a long flight from Moscow, Alan Pardew and his backroom team were at Whitley Park on Friday to take in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League clash between the Magpies and Manchester City.

James Tavernier and Romain Amalfitano boasted senior experience while the likes of Remie Streete and Lubo Satka also staked their claims in front of the manager.

Rolando Aarons made his full debut and Steven Logan netted his first second-string goal - and what a goal it was - to put United ahead. However, the visitors scored a late penalty to force a 1-1 draw.

It wasn't just Pardew and his staff who attended, though - Club Photographer Ian Horrocks also shook off his jet lag to bring nufc.co.uk this exclusive gallery.
