Pic Special: French DaySunday's match against Southampton was a designated as 'French day' by the Club as it celebrated the recent influx of new players from Gallic shores, and everybody certainly entered into the spirit of the occasion. Kath Cassidy, the long-serving tea lady, donned a beret while fans dressed up in traditional clothing and red, white and blue facepaint. There were beautiful can-can girls and staff firing t-shirt into the crowd, while the groundsmen even built a French snowman after clearing the pitch of frost. Singer Gavin James Burke sang Blaydon Races with a French twist, supporters held up cards to represent the French flag and to top it all, United won 4-2 with Moussa Sissoko and Yohan Cabaye among the scorers. Our photographers, Ian Horrocks and Dave Charlton, were the men with the the je ne sais quoi who brought nufc.co.uk this gallery of the day - can you spot yourself? |
