There were no goals at St. James' Park on Thursday night - but Newcastle would have had two but for assistant referees' flags while they created opportunities to score plenty more.

Metalist Kharkiv goalkeeper Oleksandr Goryaniov was a busy man, particularly in the second half as he made a string of saves to keep the score at 0-0, but he was beaten once in each half by Papiss Cisse only for his efforts to be disallowed for offside.

On both occasions, the Senegalese striker was celebrating before being left frustrated, but the Magpies still have a good chance of qualifying for the round of 16 if they can score in the Ukraine next week.
