Pic Special: Back To The Future

On Monday afternoon, Magpies duo Shola and Sammy Ameobi returned to Walker to open a revamped sports centre which could inspire a new generation of sports stars.

The brothers both played for Walker Central Boys Club as well as attending a nearby school, and visited the Walker Activity Dome to celebrate its refurbishment following a £338,819 grant from the Premier League's Community Facilities Fund (PLCFF).

Shola and Sammy were joined by local children and a host of special guests from Newcastle United, the Newcastle United Foundation, Newcastle City Council, the Premier League and the Football Foundation, with Nick Brown MP performing a formal plaque unveiling.

Club Photographer Ian Horrocks was also present and has created this gallery of images of the duo heading back to their roots.
