United's new-look side picked up maximum points on their travels as they recorded a 2-1 win away at Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Papiss Cisse and Yohan Cabaye gave the visitors a dream start at Villa Park with goals before half-time, as recent signings Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran made their Magpies debuts. 

Although Christian Benteke netted a penalty after the restart to halve the deficit, Newcastle hung on for their first away victory of the season thanks to some outstanding defending, including a last-gasp tackle from substitute Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa - another recruit making his bow.
