Pic Special: Newcastle 1 Everton 2Papiss Cisse struck within the opening two minutes of Newcastle's Premier League clash with Everton on Wednesday, but the Magpies slipped to a 2-1 defeat at St. James' Park. The Senegalese scoring sensation headed in at the Gallowgate End to send a near-sell-out crowd into delirium, but the joy only lasted until just before half-time, when Toffees full-back Leighton Baines thumped home a long-range, swerving free-kick. Before that, James Perch had nodded against the post, and United were made to pay for further missed chances when substitute Victor Anichebe prodded in midway through the second half to give the visitors all three points. As ever, Club Photographer Ian Horrocks was pitchside on Tyneside, and has produced this gallery of images from the Premier League clash. |
