Demba Ba headed his eighth goal of another prolific season for Newcastle on Saturday, but it was too little, too late as the Magpies went down 2-1 to Swansea.

The Senegalese striker's effort was merely a stoppage time consolation as goals from Michu and Jonathan De Guzman handed the Swans all three points at St. James' Park.

United had plenty of chances over the course of the afternoon to change their fate but Ba, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi and Vurnon Anita were all unable to find a way through the visitors' defence.
