Pic Special: Cheick Mate

Having waited patiently as he served his three-match domestic ban and played for his country in midweek, Cheick Tiote turned his attentions to his Barclays Premier League comeback on Friday morning at Newcastle United's training ground.

The Ivorian was in great spirits and is clearly relishing his return against Swansea at St. James' Park on Saturday.

He was joined by Papiss Cisse, who had missed training this week with the back problem which forced him off at half-time against West Ham last weekend, while Sammy Ameobi was also able to take part after being ruled out of the Hammers clash and England under-21s' match in midweek.

Jonas Gutierrez was also involved having limped off against the Hammers while James Perch was out and about, although he did not take part in full training.

Club Photographer Ian Horrocks was pitchside as the lads went through their paces to bring nufc.co.uk this exclusive gallery.
