Pic Special: Man Utd 2 Newcastle 1

Papiss Cisse netted his first goal of the season for Newcastle on Wednesday night, but they bowed out of the Capital One Cup with a 2-1 third round defeat at Manchester United.

Senegal international Cisse stooped to head home fellow substitute Shane Ferguson's cross just past the hour mark, but by that point the Magpies were already trailing by two goals.

Anderson and Tom Cleverley had earlier fired the hosts into a comfortable lead with goals either side of half-time.

Cisse nearly levelled late on but sent a stunning overhead kick against the crossbar.

The match also saw returns to the Newcastle starting line-up for Fabricio Coloccini and Cheick Tiote after injury, and Club Photographer Ian Horrocks was pitchside at Old Trafford to capture the best of the action.
