Pic Special: Berwick v Newcastle ResLast month Berwick recorded a famous 1-1 draw with Rangers at Shielfield Park in the Scottish Third Division, and on Friday night they toppled the might of Newcastle United. This was just a friendly and Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's side featured just one player - Adam Campbell - with first-team experience, but it was still a memorable evening for the Mini Gers. Campbell fired the Magpies ahead at Shielfield Park but Fraser McLaren equalised from the penalty spot and Lee Currie dinked home the winner in the second half. But it was a good experience for the young visitors, particularly the likes of 15-year-old Adam Armstrong and 16-year-olds Lubo Satka and Alex Gilliead, while trialist Dan Rickard was also given a chance to impress.
