Newcastle returned from Athens, the capital city of Greece, with a good Europa League away draw on Thursday and on Friday evening they were in England's capital, London, to prepare for their Barclays Premier League clash at Chelsea.

And, having stayed at home for the match with Atromitos, the likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa linked up with their team-mates, with captain Coloccini hoping to shrug off the knock which saw him miss the opening game of the season against Tottenham.

It was a light work-out in their picturesque Surrey surroundings, with some of the players took part in some shooting practice while those who had been involved against Atromitos had a recovery session.
