Demba Ba was back on the goal trail on Monday night as he headed Newcastle to a 1-0 friendly win over Monaco in Germany.

The big striker netted midway through the first half, and that effort ultimately proved to be enough to earn United their first victory of the tour.

Shola Ameobi, Gabriel Obertan and Dan Gosling could have extended the Magpies' advantage further, and plenty of players got vital minutes under their belts as they continue preparations for the 2012/13 campaign.
