Pic Special: The Best Of TimesLeon Best departed Tyneside on Monday afternoon for Blackburn Rovers. The striker has moved to Ewood Park on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, and will wear Rovers' number nine shirt. Best arrived at Newcastle in February 2010 from Coventry City and played a key part in not only helping the Magpies gain promotion from the Championship at the first attempt, but also in establishing them back in the Premier League. A hat-trick against West Ham will have been an obvious highlight, along with one goal in that stunning comeback against Arsenal. And the front man's final goal in the black and white stripes was one of his best - turning the QPR defence inside out before slotting into the far corner. And thanks to Club Photographer Ian Horrocks we have been able to put together this gallery of Best's time at Newcastle. |
