Pic Special: Newcastle 2 Aston Villa 1

A Demba double helped Newcastle United beat Aston Villa and climb back to fifth place in the table, with their two Senegalese stars both on target.

Demba Ba opened the scoring on the half hour mark at the Sports Direct Arena, finishing clinically when the ball broke to him after Ryan Taylor was wiped out in the box.

Robbie Keane levelled on the stroke of half-time, converting from former Magpie Charles N'Zogbia's cross - but then Papiss Demba Cisse produced a moment of magic on his debut.

Controlling Jonas Gutierrez's cross with one touch, he sent the ball flying into the top corner at the Gallowgate end with his second. It was a finish from United's new number nine which Alan Shearer and Jackie Milburn would have been proud of.

And Ian Horrocks and Serena Taylor provided the best pictures from the afternoon for nufc.co.uk.
