Newcastle United suffered their first defeat of the season as they went down 3-1 at Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday.

Dan Gosling grabbed a late consolation for the visitors at the Etihad Stadium, but it was too little, too late as penalties from Mario Balotelli and Sergio Aguero had sandwiched a Micah Richards goal to put City in control.

Alan Pardew's side were far from outclassed though, and had their fair share of chances through Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa in particular.
