The Toon Army travelled to Blackpool in numbers on Saturday and saw an entertaining, hard-fought affair against The Tangerines.

Peter Lovenkrands opened the scoring with a long-range effort for his 25th United goal in all competitions, but Ian Holloway's relegation-threatened side refused to lie down and equalised through a DJ Campbell effort which Jose Enrique appeared to clear off the line.

The second half could have gone either way with goalmouth scrambles at both ends and influential Charlie Adam hitting the post for the home side, but the draw did neither side any harm as Blackpool climbed out of the bottom three and Newcastle effectively secured their own Barclays Premier League status.
