Newcastle and Bolton played out an entertaining and open 1-1 draw at St. James' Park on Saturday, with Kevin Nolan giving United an early lead before Daniel Sturridge equalised shortly before half-time.

Both teams pressed for a win, although Ryan Taylor's red card restricted the home side's attacking ambitions in the closing stages. But even then, Nile Ranger had the ball in the net only for his header to be ruled out.
