Pic Special: John And Liam Tributes
Newcastle United used Sunday's Barclays Premier League opener against Manchester City to pay tribute to John Alder and Liam Sweeney.
The pair lost their lives in July's MH17 Malaysia Airline tragedy while travelling to watch the Magpies on their pre-season tour of New Zealand.
United skipper Fabricio Coloccini and his City counterpart Vincent Kompany - along with family members and representatives from Sunderland AFC - laid wreaths in the centre-circle of the St. James' Park pitch, before a one minute silence was impeccably observed.
Later, as has become custom at Newcastle games since the tragedy, applause rang around the stadium in the 17th minute to further pay respect to John and Liam's outstanding support of the Club.
