A Newcastle United Member was the lucky winner of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at last month's home victory over Stoke.
Barry Young, from Dublin, entered March's Money-Can't-Buy competition, and received a fantastic prize. The Magpies fan and his brother was given a tour of the changing rooms and media suite at the Sports Direct Arena, before watching the players warm-up from pitchside.
But that wasn't the end of the experience, as they got to stand next to the tunnel when the players emerged before the Premier League fixture, and Barry was named Member of the Match - having his name displayed on our LED advertising hoardings and enjoying the match from the Directors Box before receiving a signed shirt.
Barry wrote to us to tell us all about his brilliant day, so here is his account in his own words:
"I am a lifelong Newcastle supporter, through the good times and the bad times.
"I thought the gift of my own heritage stone at the stadium was the icing on the cake, and then the unbelievable happened... I received an email from Newcastle United saying I had won a competition. I thought it was joke.
"I became a Member online, as you are constantly kept up-to-date with the happenings at the Club, and I could get pre-sale match tickets as well as entering competitions.
"I flew over from Dublin on the 21st April and upon arriving at the ground my brother and I were greeted by Ollie Stapleton (Partnership Executive). We were taken on a tour around the stadium and then shown onto the pitch beside the players warming-up.
"We then got to stand next to the tunnel when the players walked out at 2.55pm.
"When you think it could not get any better, we were then brought up to the Directors Box to take in the game. I could not believe it when I saw my name surrounding the pitch on the LED screens.
"Even bumping into people and ex-players just seemed surreal, and to top it all off I then received a jersey after the game signed by all of the players.
"I can honestly say the memory of the entire day will be embedded in my memory for the rest of my life. I would like to say a big thank you to the Club for giving me an amazing day!"
