Newcastle United's first team squad were out in force on Sunday afternoon at the annual Magpies Christmas party.
Held in the Bamburgh Suite at the Sports Direct Arena, around 25 players mingled with more than 250 junior Members, signing autographs, posing for photos and talking about their fantastic start to the season as they joined the young fans on their party tables.
As well as meeting their heroes, the lucky fans also got to test the strength of their shots with a speed gun, play video games, get airbrushed tattoos, and take part in a penalty shoot-out on an afternoon to remember.
Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Gabriel Obertan, Mike Williamson and Rob Elliot were all in attendance, and one of the highlights of the event was a conga, led by forward Sammy Ameobi, and starring the flamboyant dancing of Argentine Jonas Gutierrez, who impressed all in attendance with his moves!
A formal question and answer session saw Danny Simpson, Tim Krul, Demba Ba, Ryan Taylor and Shola Ameobi handle some interesting questions, as Taylor explained how he mastered taking free-kicks, while top scorer Ba was set a goal target for the season by one supporter.
"All the lads had a great time and it was nice for us to see all the young supporters enjoying the party," said United right-back Simpson.
"Sammy and Jonas did great leading the conga around the room, while I pitted my wits against some very good players on the FIFA 12 console."
Goalkeeper Tim Krul added: "These are fun events and it's nice that we were all able to come as a squad and surprise the children. When I was asked about one of my favourite games this season, I had to mention winning at Sunderland didn't I!"
And conga king Gutierrez said: "I hope the children appreciated my dance moves, it may have surprised one or two of them who were trying to follow me but it was definitely great fun."
It wasn't just the kids and players who had a great time, but the parents too.
Michael Gallon said: "From the personalised invitation card, staff on the day, entertainment, lunch and of the course the highlight of the day - meeting the players -everything was fantastic. My seven-year-old son will remember the day for years to come."
And Lee Summersgill added: "My son and his grandpartents had a fantastsic time and were really pleased with the efforts of the club and players."
