Open day

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

The club is holding an open training session next Friday, where the players will be put through their paces in front of the fans at St. James' Park.

But a handful of lucky supporters can also be part of the action thanks to our once-in-a-lifetime competitions for Newcastle United Members.

So if you're not already a Member, now is a good time to become one - more details are available here.

For Magpies members, the package designed for our young fans, there are 75 spaces up for grabs to meet the players at a signing session at 1.30pm, after the training session.

Meanwhile ten lucky Magpies will be selected to win the chance to take part in a penalty shoot-out before training starts - with the top three then competing in a spot-kick shoot-out against Tim Krul himself during the session. Each of the three finalists will also receive a signed goalkeeper shirt from Krul and a pair of tickets for the next home game against Everton.

And a further ten Magpies Members will be chosen as ballboys for the training session.

For Club Members, the adult package, there are ten spaces to take part in a crossbar challenge before the training session, with two attempts each.

The top three will then get to compete in another crossbar challenge - but this time against three of Newcastle United's star players. They will also receive a shirt each, signed by the three players.

And those three Members will also go behind the scenes to watch Alan Pardew's press conference ahead of our next Barclays Premier League game, away to Stoke.

All ten Members drawn out to take part in the crossbar challenge will be given two tickets for the Everton game.

To enter these free prize draws, email with your Membership number and which competition you're applying for (young fans can only enter the Magpies Members competition and adults can only enter the Club Members one).

The lucky Magpies and Club Members will be notified on Wednesday, October 26.

Please note that any non-Member who enters will not be included in the draw.
