Nottingham Forest 1
Newcastle United 4 (Knight 2 (1 pen), Campbell, Miele)
Dave Watson hailed a "great reaction" from his Newcastle United youngsters as they came from a goal down to beat Nottingham Forest at the Gresham Road Academy.
The table-topping Magpies were somewhat below par in the opening 45 minutes, and went behind before Dennis Knight levelled on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot.
And quickfire goals from Adam Campbell, Brandon Miele and another strike from Knight gave United their seventh win in eight games at this level.
Under-18s Coach Watson told nufc.co.uk: "We weren't at our best in the first half. Forest played well and we didn't really get going.
"But the second half was a lot better, and we scored three fantastic goals.
"The players responded well to what we said at half-time and we got a great reaction.
"We were also very professional to see the game out."
Knight converted from the spot after Miele was fouled, before the Magpies blew Forest away with three goals in 15 second half minutes.
First top scorer Campbell - one of the smallest players on the field - headed home from a corner to sign off in perfect style before he joins up with the England under-17 squad for the Algarve Tournament.
Then Miele timed his run into the box to perfection to rifle home Newcastle's third before Knight broke from deep, played a one-two and finished with aplomb.
