Newcastle entertain Swansea City at St. James' Park on Saturday afternoon in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off).

The Magpies go into the fixture hoping for an immediate return to winning ways, having suffered a 1-0 defeat against West Ham last time out, while Swansea recorded a score-draw away at Southampton.

When the sides met last season, they played out a goalless draw on Tyneside just before Christmas, before a Papiss Cisse double earned an impressive victory in South Wales.

TEAM NEWS
Newcastle - Cheick Tiote returns to the Magpies' engine room, having served a three-game ban. However, his regular central midfield partner Yohan Cabaye is out with a groin injury, joining Jonas Gutierrez (knee), James Perch (thigh), Ryan Taylor (knee), Haris Vuckic (knee) and Dan Gosling (ankle) on the treatment table. Captain Fabricio Coloccini sits out the second game of his suspension, and there are doubts over Papiss Cisse (back) and Sammy Ameobi (hamstring).

Swansea - Midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung is sidelined by a hamstring injury, but the Swans are hoping to be boosted by the return of striker Danny Graham and centre-back Chico Flores after respective back and thigh complaints. Long-term absentees Michel Vorm (groin), Neil Taylor (ankle) and Kyle Bartley (thigh) remain out.

A WORD FROM BOTH CAMPS
Alan Pardew, Newcastle manager: "Swansea will come, play a different style of football (to West Ham last weekend) but equally will be looking to cause us problems. So we need to find a solution and that is what we will search for on Saturday. It's important that we give our fans some entertainment that will lift them."

Michael Laudrup, Swansea manager: "They are a strong team, and following their defeat to West Ham last weekend they will want to put on a good performance. Newcastle will want to put on a good display for the fans and we need to be prepared and make sure we are at our best to try and get something from the game."
