Newcastle United Foundation has handed over a cheque for £3,848 to Sacriston Community Football Club in Sir Bobby Robson's home town.
The funds were raised as part of National Football Day on Saturday, 10th August, when Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Portuguese side SC Braga in a pre-season friendly.
Tony Threlfall, football development officer at the Foundation, presented the cheque to Sacriston chairman Fraser Reynolds and their under-11 team. The funds will boost Sacriston's refurbishment project.
Tony said: "We are delighted to present Sacriston FC with proceeds raised from the pre-season friendly.
"The day was all about showcasing football at grassroots level and what better way than to support Sir Bobby's local junior football team."
