Generous Newcastle United fans have raised £13,700 for charity by buying kit and memorabilia in an exclusive end-of-season auction.

Newcastle United Foundation launched its annual online auction in June, listing 310 items over a four week period.

The most popular items among fans were captain Fabricio Coloccini's training kit, a full set of matchday programmes, Steven Taylor's boots, French home shorts signed by Les Bleus international Yohan Cabaye and the four corner flags from St. James' Park.

Sarah Medcalf, fundraising manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: "Once again, we want to thank Newcastle United fans from around the world for their generosity.

"The funds raised will be re-invested here in the North-East to benefit disadvantaged children, young people and families."
