The generosity of Newcastle United footballers is set to raise significant funds for community projects across the region as part of Newcastle United Foundation's annual end-of-season auction on eBay.
Toon fanatics will be able to bid for a wide range of exclusive kit and memorabilia from last season kindly donated by Newcastle United players to show their support for the Club's official charity. The online auction will consist of four listings starting on Sunday, 16th June at 12pm and will run until Sunday, 7th July. Each listing lasts seven days, with a new batch of items being added every Sunday until all the items are sold out.
Lots include football boots owned by a number of players including Steven Taylor and Steve Harper, with the stars' names stitched in, as well as rare European kits worn by players such captain Fabricio Coloccini.
Also included is a famous 'Over The Wall' warm-up jacket worn by the first team in solidarity for injured teammate Ryan Taylor. The jackets grabbed the headlines in September 2012 when players wore them ahead of Newcastle United's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa after the popular defender picked up a serious injury in a midweek fixture against Atromitos.
Sarah Medcalf, fundraising manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: "We would like to thank the players for donating the items to our charity auction and wish all of our supporters in the UK and worldwide good luck in bidding for these fabulous items. Here's to raising a fantastic amount by bidding on eBay. "
All items will be listed on Newcastle United Foundation's eBay auction site and every penny raised will go to Newcastle United Foundation to help support disadvantaged children, young people and families in the North East. Click here to visit Newcastle United Foundation's eBay site.
