Newcastle United Foundation have recently re-launched their Schools Coaching Programme to include a new, comprehensive range of activities for all ages and levels, and not just football!
Football Development Officer, Steve Swinyard explains; "We work with a lot of schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead and Northumberland and have sort advise from them all as to what they want and need in their school in terms of PE. This feedback has helped us to revisit what we were previously offering schools, allowing us then to adapt and refine our provision making sure we cater for what schools actually want. We have a fantastic team of coaches who work to specialised syllabus for each different activity and we always make sure that our work is fit for school and OFSTED purposes".
Forest Hall Primary School in North Tyneside have worked with the Foundation over the two school years, with the children taking part in a "Ben Arfa After School Club".
Nicola Nolan, PE Coordinator at the school commented; "We are currently using Newcastle United Foundation for an after school club and would like to continue this into next academic year too. We have had Lloyd Miller as our Foundation Coach and he has been fabulous, including his new homework initiative. Lots of our staff, including the Head Teacher have approached me to say how impressed they were with his attitude, manner and the skilful way he has included the children with a wide variety of abilities. We are already looking forward to next year and once again working with Newcastle United Foundation - I would definitely recommend them"
