We are delighted to announce that Brian Ashton MBE will be visiting the North East on Friday 8th February to deliver a seminar as part of our Coach the Coach Clinic programme. The presentation will be staged in the Sir Bobby Suite at St James' Park and is open to coaches from all sports and from all levels of their sport.

Brian has been head coach at Bath Rugby as well as Head Coach of the Ireland and England National Rugby teams, taking England to the final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Brian is a world class coach, renowned for his attention to detail, innovative coaching methods and robust philosophy which he will be sharing with attendees on the evening.

Brian said; "My main strength is as a coach. I see my job as improving players individually, to do the technical work with them, and also to establish the environment, the framework, in which the players operate". We look forward to hearing more.

Neil Winskill, Football Development Manager at Newcastle United Foundation said; "This clinic marks the third anniversary of our 'Coach the Coach Clinic' programme, and the forming of the partnership between ourselves, Northumberland Football Association, Complete Football and NFP Soccer. We have had a fantastic two years thus far, with some tremendous national and world class practitioners delivering for us. We are absolutely thrilled that Brian has agreed to come to our club to share his vast experience and expertise with us. This is a major coup for us. Our aim has always been to support the coaches in our region by offering them the opportunity to observe best practice from those at the top of their profession, regardless of the sport. This event should be one of the best we have facilitated and we hope many coaches come along to share in Brian's outstanding work".
